3 middle linebackers I’d love the Miami Dolphins to do their homework on

Alex Singleton may not make the highlight reels too often but he would be a very serviceable player for the Miami Dolphins.

So, who is Alex Singleton? Alex Singleton is a 29-year-old middle linebacker who has been in the league for four years with his latest stop being with the Denver Broncos.

Last year, Singleton played in every game but started only 12 of them. Even though he wasn’t the starter every week, he was still able to rank 5th in the NFL in total tackles with 163. That tells me that this guy keeps himself prepared while also putting himself where the action is as often as he could. Being a middle linebacker is incumbent on knowing that you’re going to be involved in a lot of plays one way to the other. It’s nice to see that Singleton made the most of his opportunities.

Is he a major upgrade over Elandon Roberts? I really don’t know. It’s quite possible that they both have similar ceilings. But one thing Singleton does have in common with Roberts, who again is an unrestricted free agent, is that they’re are cheap. It won’t cost that much to sign Singleton and you pretty much know what you’re going to get.

Especially if Fangio and the team think Channing Tindall does, in fact, have the ability to step up, of course, this is pending that Tindall shows them in training camp that he’s ready to contribute, signing Singleton I think would be a really good move. Pair him up with Baker to start the season and then get Tindall more and more on the field.

Also, I like that he wears a number in the 40s. Makes me think that he has a little speed to him. Might seem like a little thing but maybe it means the most out of anything that involves Alex Singleton.
