The top Right Tackle in this free agency class comes to play for his old coach.

Mike McGlinchey will be the prized possession of Mike McDaniel if he can reel him away from his former boss Kyle Shanahan. He would provide blindside protection for QB Tua Tagovailoa that would allow him to breathe in the pocket.

While financially I don’t know how willing to spend the Miami Dolphins will be at right tackle considering how well the draft class seems to be shaping up. I think Mike McGlinchey is the right fit if the Dolphins do opt to go in the direction of spending.

His price tag has also continued to drop as time goes on simply because outside of the Miami Dolphins he doesn’t protect any other QB’s blindside. Playing right tackle in the NFL is not nearly as prime of a spot as playing left tackle.

Now, does that mean the Miami Dolphins will get a discount on Mike McGlinchey?

No, I don’t suspect that, but with the hype that continues building around this team and the amount of money that the front office has proven to spend to want to win, I think this move is very feasible.

Spotrac currently has his contract expectation listed at $14.8 million per year on a 4-year deal. I think the appeal of coming to play for his old coach and the Miami Dolphins draws this offer down a little bit.

If I was the Miami Dolphins front office I would offer $11.6 million per year on a 4-year deal.
