If there is any running back to go after, it needs to be Saquon Barkley.

Saquon Barkley is the top target of a lot of teams heading into free agency, but the Miami Dolphins likely would put the ball in his hands a lot more than most other teams will.

The Miami Dolphins have been desperately searching for a workhorse back for a few years now, but they have been just simply unable to find one.

Barkley would be a slam-dunk, homerun, alley-oop, cherry-on-top type of signing for this offense. It was already one of the best in the league, and adding a top-5 running back in the league to it would only make it 10x more explosive.

The former #2 overall selection out of Penn State has proven after a revival year that he is still the type of guy you can build an offense around.

Luckily for the Miami Dolphins they already have an extremely dynamic offense and adding this piece would be the absolute best move possible.

The adage “you never pay a running back” shouldn’t and won’t apply here in this scenario. Barkley is the last piece of the puzzle in giving the Miami Dolphins a Super Bowl-caliber offense.

If I was the Miami Dolphins front office I would offer $11.9 million per year on a 5-year deal.
