Tua Tagovailoa could stay in the state of Florida if the Dolphins opt to trade him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay doesn’t have Tom Brady anymore. They need a quarterback and while they are willing to ride with Kyle Trask, that isn’t something they believe in. Tua would, again, give the Bucs two seasons and allow them to continue to develop Trask for the job.

Compensation would be interesting. Tampa’s first round draft pick is 19 and that is probably too high for Tua this year but a combination of a 2nd or multiple 2nd round picks could be enough to sway the needle, especially if the Dolphins are looking to recoup draft capital.

It wouldn’t be a bad move for Tua either. The Bucs have a solid offense and a good offensive line and their defense is in the process of being tweaked. The Bucs and especially Todd Bowles, need to win now and Trask isn’t going to elicit confidence but Tua just might.

Another benefit is that Tua gets out of the AFC but let us be real, if the Dolphins move on from Tua, they are not likely too concerned about where the quarterback lands.
