The Miami Dolphins have a big need at cornerback and Garrett Williams would be a perfect addition to the roster in the third round of the draft. If he falls that far.

With the uncertainty of Bryon Jones, and the likelihood that the Dolphins do not spend a lot of money in free agency, cornerback is going to be a big need for the Dolphins.

Garrett Wilson is an intriguing prospect out of Syracuse who could be challenging for a starting job in training camp.

Collectively, scouting reports show that Williams has good vision and excellent ball skills but more importantly, he can tackle and has done well in run support, this will be crucial in Vic Fangio’s defensive system.

In college, Williams wasn’t the top choice for opposing quarterbacks and that is a good sign as he enters the NFL.

What holds Williams back is his initial change from back peddaling to running side-by-side with receivers. He has good speed but in the NFL, the speed is elite. He isn’t considered a lockdown corner.

That being said, his vision and hands as well as his instinct make him a prospect that can help Miami immediately.
