The Miami Dolphins keeping one of the better punters in the league is a move that needs to happen.

The Miami Dolphins brought in Thomas Morstead to help upgrade their punting unit. Morstead did that by landing himself in the top 10 for punts inside the 20 at 43%.

Not only that but I recall games where the Dolphin’s offense was sputtering and the real T.Stead was booming the ball and flipping the field. Think back to the do-or-die game with the Jets at the end of the season. The offense was putrid but Morstead and that fierce leg of his kept the also putrid offense of the Jets backed up all day. Those kinds of plays are what help teams win games when other units aren’t clicking.

Plus, and this can’t be stated enough, Thomas Morstead has been quite literally chiseled out of granite.

Hulk Hogan may have had 24in pythons from all that  ̶I̶C̶O̶ ̶P̶R̶O̶  vitamins but he has nothing on my guy Thomas Morstead. That’s FB Alec Ingold in the background looking like a solid high school player and then you have the adonis Thomas Morstead being like “maybe I should be the fullback around here.” I’m sure they have many conversations about that.

But really, the punting game is nothing to take lightly just as the holding game on field goals shouldn’t be slept on. I know Jason Sanders had a rough patch last year but in the last quarter of the season, Sanders did much better largely due to the firm hands of Morstead.

Get Thomas Morstead resigned to a lifetime contract and let’s worry about the punting department anymore.

Also, great butt-punt shirt. That will always play.
