Next. Best 2nd round picks of last 10 years.. dark

Over the last ten years, the Miami Dolphins have had a few good draft picks but they have had six that should never have been taken.

The debate is starting to simmer on social media where Miami Dolphins fans are drumming up the annual trade-up, stay-put, or trade-down scenarios.

The one thing we know for certain at this point is that the Dolphins are not drafting in round one barring a very big and unexpected trade that would likely cost a combination of players and picks from 2024 and 2023.

The Dolphins’ best player to trade is Christian Wilkins but another team would have to be willing to trade a first and work out a new contract. Wilkins is playing on a 5th-year option that will pay him $10 million this year. If the Dolphins don’t believe his value on an extension is in the $60 – $70 million range over 4 years, they should shop him.

No other player on Miami’s roster will net a first-round pick in return and even Wilkins may not bring that in.

That leaves Miami with the other options of trading up or trading back or staying put. This will depend on whether or not a player at selection 51 is available.

One of the reasons many fans believe the Dolphins should move down and accumulate more draft picks is because their history isn’t great in round two. Here are five players that the Miami Dolphins have drafted in round two that they probably shouldn’t have.
