We're about two weeks into training camp and these five Dolphins players have, mostly, risen from the bottom of the depth chart to show that they may be able to contribute to the 2024 squad. If you're a player of the market, feel free to think of these players' stock as rising.

Now, just like in the world of Gordon Gekko or the Wolf of Wall Street, if you're completely unaware of the former reference, stocks eventually come down. That is to say just because these players have flashed and are getting love from the media and other players on the team, it doesn't mean they're a lock to be out there Week 1 and be studs. With that said, here's a look at five players who have been turning heads in South Florida thus far this summer. We're getting things started with a rookie who has lived up to the hype:

Chop Robinson has been superb for the Dolphins

We wrote about Chop Robinson recently and for good reason. Everyone who has been attending training camp regularly has been mentioning how the rookie first-rounder has been kind of having his way with the Dolphins' offensive line.

It's being said that Robinson has been getting to the quarterback consistently, splitting double teams when he needs to, and holding his ground. However, he is also being stout against the run, which has been a major positive.

His play against the run is what will get him on the field in situations that aren't strictly 3rd down and obvious passing situations. If he can show that teams can't simply just run at him, then he gives Anthony Weaver much more flexibility in calling his game.

Robinson is one of those guys who will be on the field come Week 1, in the first quarter. Even before the retirement of Shaq Barrett, the youngster was going to play, but since Barrett's departure, the importance of him having a strong camp increased. It appears, at least for now, that he is showing off that incredible get-off burst, which bodes well for everyone.

Ethan Bonner has made a jump on defense

You remember Ethan Bonner from last year, right? The guy who played in only two games and had only one pass defended? Yeah, that Bonner.

You probably only remember him being lumped in with the likes of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert as being one of the potential fastest guys on the team. Plenty of times last year when players were asked who was the fastest on the team, Bonner's name would get thrown in there and nobody knew whe he was.

However, there's something about Bonner that fans are intrigued about. Who knows what it is. What we do know is that the undrafted corner out of Stanford has some of the best guys on the team raving about him not simply becuase he's really fast, but how he has upped his game from his rookie year.

The jump from Year 1 to Year 2 is one that is crucial in a player's development. Typically, we only focus on the early-round picks when it comes to that. However, even the undrafted guys go through that process and hopefully the Dolphins have an unheralded guy who was looked over by everyone and is seizing the moment.

We all know that you can never have enough secondary help. Yes, you can't have enough depth at every position, but there will be many times where there are six secondary players on the field, so you really need to make sure you have quality guys behind your starters. Bonner, if he keeps this up, and performs well in the preseason games, may find himself being one of the first guys called in to spell Jalen Ramsey and Kendall Fuller. Stranger things have happened.

Quinton Bell is a fun story for fans to enjoy

We won't pretend to be Quinton Bell experts. When you take a look at his path thus far in the NFL, it shows that situations matters. He was drafted by the Raiders in 2019, signed to the Bucs practice squad in 2020, only to be signed to the Falcons practice squad in 2021. In 2023, he was picked up by the Eagles and in January of this year, he was signed to a futures contract by Miami.

Bell sounds like your classic practice squad player, who is doing everything he can to stay in the league. However, because the pass-rushing situation in Miami is so dire right now due to the surprise Shaq Barrett retirement and Jaelan Phillip/Bradley Chubb still out, there's room for unheralded guys to step up and flash. That is what Bell is doing.

Like Bonner, this is a guy who needs to hold his own in the preseason games. He needs to show that he isn't a liability, does what the coaches are asking of him, uses sound technique, and that he can be a player on special teams.

Bell might only be a special teams player, who we only occasionally see playing defense sort of like how we used to see Calvin Munson here and there. Or, maybe he won't even make the team. Or, he gets even better. The point is for right now, he is making the most of his opportunity and that's cool to see.

Tanner Conner keeps on flashing for Mike McDaniel

The tight ends room for the Miami Dolphins is fascinating on a few levels. One, since Mike McDaniel has gotten here, the tight end has had no real receiving role in the offense. Two, Jonnu Smith was brought in to change that because that guy can boogy after the catch. Third, Durham Smythe isn't great at anything, but he doesn't stink at anything either. Fourth, Jody Fortson is enormous and he can run. And fifth, Tanner Conner is having a strong camp.

Because of a little injury to Smith, it led to Conner getting more run with the 1s at camp. That's surprising, but if you know anything about McDaniel, you know he has a thing for the undrafted tight end out of Idaho State.

In 2022, Conner made the final 53 out of nowhere. Nobody had any idea who he was, but even then it was surmised that McDaniel sees something special in this guy. Unfortunately, Conner has dealt with knee injuires since coming to the league. He's only played in 16 games and has exactly zero catches.

Essentially, Conner is on his potential last chance with the Dolphins and possibly the NFL. It's a bright spot that he is doing well in camp. He's making plays and showing that he can be a sneaky versatile tight end who can run and jump. Obviously, we'll see how joint practices and the preseason games go, but fans are pulling for this kid.

The Emmanuel Ogbah redemption tour is alive and well

The Dolphins needed help once again at defensive end /pass-rusher after Barrett retired and like last year, the Dolphins were left to hit the bargain bin. They looked at a few guys, but ultimately went with a player they released earlier this year in Emmanuel Ogbah.

Okay, it's a smart move bringing back a guy who has been here for three seasons and who knows the ins and outs of the Dolphins. Sure, there is a new defensive coordinator in town, but Ogbah has some from of chemistry with many coachces and players that are in South Florida.

Most thought that Ogbah being back was solid due to Phillips and Chubb's return being very uncertain. Ogbah can go out there and hold his own until those guys come back. However, the version of Ogbah that has arrived in South Beach is the one that the Dolphins gave a big contract to back in 2020.

Now I'm not saying that Ogbah is going to be the second coming of Trace Armstrong circa 2000, but him getting to around the seven sacks number is somewhat conceivable if he brings the same intensity that he is bringing in camp.
