5 former Dolphins who still don't have jobs after first FA wave and one who should be re-signed
By Brian Miller
The Dolphins traded for a WR ahead of the deadline last year and it was a longshot for him to work.
Chase Claypool
Claypool should have been more involved in the Dolphins offense. He easily could have been Mike McDaniel's version of Deebo Samuel. A big WR that could take an end around and get upfield. Or a top target in the red zone given his height. Instead, he relegated to the sidelines and was used sparingly.
Free agency wasn't going to be a big hit for Claypool who talked his way out of Pittsburgh and then out of Chicago. Teams are going to be wary of paying him anything that he is likely to believe he is worth. Simply put, Claypool is one of those WRs who have so much unrealized talent, and no matter where he goes, it will be a fingers-crossed type signing.
He won't disrupt the makeup of a team, that is behind him it seems but he won't bring much value to an offense outside of depth.
