The Miami Dolphins today were granted two additional draft picks in this years draft.  No it was not a gift out of pity, the NFL announced the 32 Comp picks and low and behold the Dolphins got two.
Awarded were a sixth-round pick (204 overall) and a seventh-round pick (245 overall). 
Last season the Phins lost David Bowens, Damion McIntosh, Sammy Morris and Jeff Zgonina and signed only Jay Feely and David Martin.  Under CBA rules, a team losing more “compensation” eligible free agents than they signed, the team could receive compensation.
 

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced to the owners today the first games of the season.  Miami is not on the Prime time schedule for week 1.
Thursday night the Giants will play the Redskins in a game that will kickoff 90 minutes early due to the Republican National Convention.  Sunday night football will feature the Chicago Bears and Indy Colts in the Colts new diggs.

Today, the NFL owners unanimously approved the sale of the Miami Dolphins to Stephen Ross.
Ross is the owner of 50 percent of the team while Wayne Huizenga will continue to own the other half and maintain managing control of the franchise for the immediate future.  Ross will eventually buy out the remaining half to become the sole owner.

Fasano was rumored to be a possible target of the new trifecta of former Cowboy coaches now calling the shots.  Although most talk of the ‘Boyz trading up for Darren McFadden has subsided, I still believe that when it all is said and done, Fassano will be a Dolphin.

The Miami Dolphins have been an enigma since they powers in Davie took over.  With the draft a short 28 days away, we hear less and less about what the Dolphins are doing at their private meetings and at the pro-days they attend.

The NFL competition committee will be dissecting several new rule change proposals starting Monday when the NFL owners convene on the city of Palm Beach in Florida.  Yes, that is where Miami Dolphins Grand Pooh bah Bill Parcells lives and no, he will not attend the meetings.

With little to nothing going on right now in the world of Miami Dolphins football, there is at least an oasis on the horizon.  The NFL schedule.  Last night, the NFL announced it’s prime time Thursday opener.  The defending Super Bowl Champion NY Giants will play host to their division rival Washington Redskins. 
Due to the Republican National Convention which is on the same night, the NFL is likely moving the kickoff from 8:30 to 7:00 PM.

Today, one of the most important pro-days is taking place, in fact, as of this writing, that pro-day is in full swing.  All eyes are on Arkansas as Felix Jones and Darren McFadden strut their stuff.
A stellar performance by McFadden could be enough to encourage Dallas to move up in round 1 to take him.  An equally stellar showing by Jones and Dallas may have little alternative as Jones may end up with the Lions, Panthers, or even the Bears.

Tonight Jason Taylor aka “Twinkle Toes” dance the Mambo on “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC.  The judges loved, his wife in the audience seated next to Jason’s agent was all smiles.  For the 2nd week in a row the NFL Man of the Year and current Miami Dolphins DE,  received high praise.  For those of you watching the program via TIVO or DVR, I will not post the scores on this main page.
