Hauze Opinion: If this is it?

So, the lockout ended and the hell week of free agency started with great anticipation. Who are we bringing in? How are we going to improve the offense? What excitement is coming to South Beach? And, who will be our signal caller for 2011?
Now, the hell week of free agency is over and the dust has settle. I don’t know about you, but I’m not impressed with the Dolphins acquisitions. I’m left scratching my head and saying to myself … if this is it … please let me know!
You know, kind of like the Huey Lewis song that I’m singing in my head to Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano. You’ve been thinking and I’ve been drinking. We both know that it’s just not right. Now you’re pretending that it’s not ending. You’ll say anything to avoid a fight. Please don’t lie and tell me that you need me. Please don’t cry and tell me nothing’s wrong. I’ll be alright one way or another. So, let me go or make we want to stay.

At QB, I was thinking we might draft Andy Dalton, Christian Ponder, or even Ryan Mallett. Who did we get? PAT DEVLIN! Okay … so, now who are going to add in free agency that might replace Henne? Might we get Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselback, or Kyle Orton? Who did we get? MATT MOORE! You’re kidding me, right? This guy flamed out with the Carolina Panthers, of all teams. So, are we really left with another year of Chad – duh – Henne?

At RB, I was thinking we might draft Mark Ingram, Mikel LeShoure, or Kendall Hunter. Who did we get? DANIEL THOMAS! Okay … he’s pretty good … so, now who are going to add in free agency? Might we get DeAngelo Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw, or Darren Sproles? Who did we get? REGGIE BUSH! You’re kidding me right? This guy has been on the bench more than … well … Ronnie Brown. So, are we left with only Daniel Thomas and Lex Hilliard with good wheels?

At OL, I was thinking we might draft … a guard because the two we have suck. Who did we get? MIKE POUNCEY. But, he’s a center. Okay … he’s pretty good … and … we need a center too … so, now who are going to add in free agency? Might we get Logan Mankins, Carl Nicks, or Davin Joseph? Who did we get? NOBODY! You’re kidding me right? So, are we left with Incognito and Perry at the guard spots?

I want to properly prepare to cheer for the defense … to be possibly the best defense in the league now that we got rid of Channing “THE MOUTH” Crowder. I want to properly prepare for the … well … DUH checkdowns, sacks, interceptions, fourth quarter losses, and another 7-9 season.
