The Miami Dolphins will have two players in this years Pro-Bowl and while that number is likely to increase as players who were voted in opt to drop out, some are asking which Dolphins got snubbed from the meaningless game?

The NFL released the Pro-Bowl rosters on Tuesday (yes I’m late this um, party) and two Miami Dolphins players made the roster. Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh. Both players have had stellar seasons and for Wake it could be the final push for NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Wake and Suh with the seasons they have had were almost no-brain additions but that only opens up the rest of the team for debate. It’s not a very lengthy one.

The most notable absences are from the offensive side of the ball where Laremy Tunsil, Branden Albert, Jay Ajayi, and Jarvis Landry were left off. Tunsil has had a good rookie season but it was far from Pro-Bowl worthy. Albert too has had a very good season but injuries have kept him out of some games and he may not have done enough to really warrant a roster spot.

Both players could be added, especially Albert, later in the year as starters back out of the game.

Jay Ajayi was on pace to become one of the best runners in the AFC but unfortunately he followed up his back-to-back 200 yard plus games with a string of sub-100 yard games. He eclipsed the 1,000 yard plateau last weekend but it was not going to be enough for him to surpass the vote totals for Le’Veon Bell and DeMarco Murray although a case could be argued for him over LeSean McCoy.

The only player on the Dolphins offense that could be argued as snubbed is Jarvis Landry. Landry has caught more passes in his first three years than any other receiver in history. Landry ranks fourth in the AFC in receptions and 7th in the NFL overall with 82. He is 9th in yards in the NFL and 4th in yards in the AFC as he has 1,031 yards and two games remaining.

Antonio Brown is very deserving as the number one receiver on the AFC roster but Amari Cooper is very similar in numbers with Landry and has less receptions. A.J. Green has yet to hit 1,000 yards on his 66 receptions, far below Landry’s 82 and T.Y. Hilton leads the AFC with 1,284 yards. The only player with 1200 yards.

Landry will likely make it to the Pro-Bowl this year as at least one of those players above will drop out but the fact he wasn’t voted in simply shows that the voting process is terminally flawed and should either be overhauled or simply done away with.

To be honest, it’s not like anyone really pays attention anymore. The Pro-Bowl is one of the biggest after season jokes there is and really nothing more than the league earning a little more money.

Defensively the two members that did make the team were really the only players who deserved to make the team. Such that it is.
