Time for Dolphins fans to bet on the Jets

The NFL is a scary world when it comes to betting and betting on a division rival is never smart, even if it’s the New England Patriots. But this year the Miami Dolphins faithful should put some money on the other AFC East rival. The New York Jets.

The Jets are supposed to be bad this year. In fact many predict that the Jets will finish with the top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The only loser in all of this is head coach Todd Bowles who is actually a very good and well respected coach who has made one tragic career decision. He accepted the job as head coach with the Jets.

Typically it’s not fun to poke fun at your rivals downward spiral. O.k. it really is and since Dolphins fans have been enduring some 15 years of finger poking and prodding at the hands of Jets and Patriot fans it’s only fair to give a little back.

Las Vegas odds opened with the Jets as a five win team but betting has been so big on the “under” for the Jets season that the Vegas odds have dropped on the J.E.T.S. Jets Jets Jets. According to Profootballtalk.com who in turn cites ESPN, the Jets have been the subject of a large betting pool and not in a good way.

In fact PFT points out that no other team has seen more action on the “under” than the Jets. Which leads many to see the Jets as the worst in football. It’s not surprising given the mass of veteran releases including Eric Decker, Darrelle Revis, and Nick Mangold.

The Jets won five games in 2016 and 2017 is not looking good for the “Gangrene” team of NYC. The downside to this? It really doesn’t matter how bad the Jets are they always play the Dolphins tough and the Dolphins face them twice. So while it’s o.k. to poke some fun now, the Dolphins better not look over them when it comes time to play.

UPDATE: What I failed to mention is that Dolphins fans should get in on the action of betting the Jets to lose. Not that they would win more than the current line. Sorry for any confusion…LOL
