4th quarter:

William Hayes got a sack. The Jets kick a 55 yard FG.

Dolphins 20 – Jets 9

The Jets drove the field with the hurry up but had to settle for a FG.

Dolphins 20 – Jets 12

Dolphins start a drive with about six minutes to play. Kenyan Drake got a 20 yard run. With three and a half minutes to play and 3rd and 21 Gore got an emergency dump off pass and had just enough to convert it. After some more runs and clock used up on 3rd and six, Tannehill ran it from the shotgun picking it up taken it down to the 14 with the two-minute warning. The Miami Dolphins then use kneeling plays to run out the clock picking up the victory.

The Miami Dolphins win by 20 – 12

A great divisional road win.

As advertised: Matt Haack punted at a pro bowl level.
Frank Gore for stopping the madness of this wild game and getting the first down that sealed the win under pressure.
Minkah Fitzpatrick prevented a TD pass in the end zone making the Jets settle for a FG, he was also targeted often allowing no receptions.
Xavien Howard wasn’t targeted much but did get an interception in the end zone when the Jets were foolish enough to do so.

Still missing in action: Dolphins giving up too many turnovers although the Jets gave up more.
Gase kept passing on third and short while Frank Gore sat idle. And where was the QB pressure when they were up 20 to 0?
Raekwon McMillan got roasted on a RB pass play for a long yardage TD.

Pleasant surprises: Dolphins defense held the run game for a second game now. Also got pressure and sacks as well as interceptions.
Bobby McCain saved a TD with a tackle near the goal line after a hit by Reshad Jones as the first half ended.
Kiko Alonso had many big hits and strips of the ball.
Dolphins finally ran out the clock at the end of a game with the lead. Although it was shaky.
Ryan Tannehill rushed for more yards than all of the Jets 47 to 42.

Ph-injury report: Jordan Phillips and Danny Amendola were both hurt and both returned to play.

Phin Fact: Frank Gore passed Curtis Martin for fourth all time rushing yards.
The Miami Dolphins start the season 2-0 for the first time in five years.

Game observations: This was an odd game with so many fast paced mishaps and capitalizing off of them by both teams. It was also somewhat ugly with giving up four sacks, some of which were on Tannehill for not getting rid of the ball. The best guard picked up was gone and adjustments had to be made with new players, some of which had their first TD’s Wilson and Derby.
