The three core values that Brian Flores expects from this team
By Brian Miller
Brian Flores, the new Miami Dolphins head coach, has three core values that he shares with Chris Grier and it is the reason he chose Miami.
Saying that Brian Flores “chose” Miami may be a mistake. Unlike Adam Gase, Flores wasn’t a target for other NFL teams. He was for the Dolphins and it was a shared vision and core system, something we wrote about earlier, that really defined his decision to leave New England and join the Dolphins.
On Monday the Dolphins introduced Flores and as we continue our look and breakdown of his press conference we have to dive into what exactly those core values are and how they will mold and shape the franchise and the roster.
The question asked was regarding Flores telling teams that if they did not share a core value and vision then they shouldn’t hire him. He also said that when he left his first interview with the Dolphins he was excited and felt this was the right fit. Apparently the Dolphins did as well. On Monday he expanded on that.
"“I don’t think I can stray farther from that. I believe in hard work. I believe in putting the team first. I believe in having people, a group … I believe in team. I would say that. I believe that people have to work together. If you want to strive to do something great as a group, you’ve got to work together. So there is a selflessness in that. There’s a ‘put the team first’ attitude in that and obviously there’s a process and a structure to that as well, and I would say those were aligned from that standpoint. Overall, I can’t stray too far. Those are my core beliefs and that’s where I would go there.” – MiamiDolphins.com"
If we go off of what Flores is wanting and expecting we can try to figure out the type of team and make-up he is looking for. The Dolphins will re-build their roster with those three core values along with the shared vision both Flores and Grier have talked about.
