In the end, the Dolphins relieved themselves of a lot of money. Kenny Stills and Kiko Alonso combined for almost $13 million this year alone. They will not be paying Laremy Tunsil a contract that many believed would be in the $20 million per season range. While money is a big part of it, the draft picks are something that can not be discounted.

As morning broke on Sunday, the Dolphins finished a flurry of trades that in the end looked like this.

Lost: Laremy Tunsil, Kenny Stills, Kiko Alonso

Received: Evan Boehm, Danny Isidora, Vince Biegal

Draft picks lost: 2019 7th round pick and an undisclosed late draft pick

Draft picks gained: 2020 first-round draft pick, 2021 1st round draft pick, 2021 2nd round draft pick, an undisclosed late-round draft pick.

If Chris Grier can turn those picks into bonafide starters, the Dolphins more than won the weekend.
