Number 1

Dion Jordan: 2013 NFL Draft, Round 1, Pick 3. Career Stats: 26 G, 3 SCKS, 39 TAK

Dion Jordan may be the biggest bust in Dolphins’ history. in 2013, Miami traded a second-round pick to the Oakland Raiders to move up to the number 3 overall and select Jordan out of Oregon. At the time, this move was applauded because Miami’s front office thought they got great value out of the deal, literally moving a second-round pick to move up to 3 overall. Jordan was expected to be the perfect compliment to Cameron Wake, and help build a pass rush that opposing teams would be afraid to go up against on Sundays.

And we all know how well that turned out.

Jordan never developed into any type of playmaker. He never looked like a dominant pass rusher and seemed to never produce anything of value for this team. Let’s look at some numbers quickly.

Wake was Jordan’s running partner in 2013. By comparison, Wake had a down year in 2013 tallying only 8.5 sacks. Jordan, during his tenure on the Dolphins, had a whopping 3 sacks. Over the course of his ENTIRE career, he has 10.5. So, Wake’s down year was more successful than the number 3 overall pick.

With the mix of poor play, injuries, and suspensions, Jordan is definitely the biggest bust over the last 10 years and could very well be one of the biggest busts in Dolphin history.
