Kenny Stills calls out Stephen Ross – August 2019

Politics entered the Miami Dolphins locker room earlier this year when Kenny Stills took political and personal issues with owner Stephen Ross.

Stills has always been a servant of equality and during his time with the Dolphins, he was at the forefront of building a bridge between the police and local communities. What he couldn’t do was sit by and say nothing when his owner decided to host a re-election campaign dinner for President Trump.

Basically, Stills called out his boss for being a hypocrite calling attention to Ross’ RISE initiative for racial equality while hosting a dinner for a President that Stills didn’t support or like. Stills took his issues with Ross publicly on social media.

Stills was criticized for the way he handled the situation and new head coach Brian Flores spoke with him about how he expected things like that stay internal. Still followed it up with more comments later and eventually, he and Ross met to discuss it. Stills said that he and Ross agreed to disagree.

In the end, Stills was sent to the Texans before the season began as part of the Laremy Tunsil deal.
