5. The Miami Dolphins WILL NOT trade for Deshaun Watson

YUP! Finally, it’s going to be over. I’m sure some people will still bother us with the idea, but my “bold” prediction is that the Miami Dolphins stay strong and build around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

That means they do not trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. I guess you could call it “bold,” but in reality, it never made much sense for Miami to trade vital assets to acquire a quarterback. Miami would need those important assets they would trade away to surround Watson with talent.

If Miami got Watson for a cheap deal, then yeah, or maybe if Houston threw in Will Fuller on a tag-and-trade, but I do not see either of these scenarios happening.

Houston isn’t going to give Watson away for cheap. They are going to expect multiple 1st round picks and players, in my opinion. And the players will need to be premium, high-quality players too.

That just doesn’t make sense for Miami. They are building their roster the right way, and Watson would significantly change their plans.

I also believe that once Miami doesn’t trade for Watson to start the new league year, they will not even think about doing it again. Why? If they are building around Tua, they will need to build their team differently than if they had Watson. I don’t think they would go through free agency, building their team as if Tagovailoa is the QB, and then pivot and trade for Watson. It just doesn’t make much football sense.

Tua Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.
