Mike Gesicki has been good and at times he has been great but this year, he should be a far more rounded tight end and his production should go through the roof for the Miami Dolphins.

Gesicki is entering his contract season and many players often play with more aggressiveness and drive during those years but Gesicki is different. He plays that way all the time. Last year he suffered a shoulder injury but will be back without limitations for camp.

Many tight ends entering the league struggle early in their careers. Tight end is one of the harder positions to learn due to defensive coverages, blocking assignments, and more. Gesicki is no different. He has paid his dues and last year saw him continue his forward momentum.

Gesicki has gone from 202 yards in his rookie season to 570 in his second year and finally 703 in 2020. Now, he should see more opportunities for receptions with the additional receivers on the roster. Gesicki should benefit from the WR go and fly routes that will pull safety coverage and keep defenses from stacking the line. He is a perfect fit for crossing patterns behind linebackers.

Miami fans know Gesicki quite well but on the NFL stage, he isn’t nearly as popular or known as the Travis Kelce’s of the league, that could change in 2021.
