#2. Josh Allen and the Bills see a regression

Not only do the Dolphins need to play close to their potential, but in order to win the AFC East, they’ll need other teams to falter.

The Jets and Patriots were essentially non-factors in the division last season, and the former promises to be one again for this coming one. But the latter could be much improved, with added free agent talent and arguably the greatest coach to ever live, still at the helm. But the real challenger for Miami’s hopes at the division crown will be the Bills.

Buffalo has come on as a contender in the AFC during the last couple of seasons, thanks in large part to MVP-candidate quarterback Josh Allen. After a slow start to his career, Allen has emerged as one of the best young pass throwers in the game. He has been especially good against Miami, throwing nearly 25 percent of his total touchdowns when facing the Dolphins and for 400 more yards than he has against any other team.

Allen could very well see a regression this upcoming season. He had outstanding numbers that won’t be easy to duplicate, and players and coaches will have a better idea of how to game plan for him after his breakout year.

Miami will meet Buffalo twice, but they’ll need the Bills to slip up at least once against the Patriots or Jets.
