Miami Dolphins: 3 players whose stock has gone up
By Jeremy Klump
WR Lynn Bowden Jr.
The Miami Dolphins currently have a long list of injured wide receivers, which gave second-year weapon Lynn Bowden Jr. the opportunity to showcase his skills, and he didn’t disappoint.
Bowden led the Miami receivers with four receptions for 47 yards on five targets. It wasn’t elite production, but it was more than enough to show that Miami would be crazy to cut Bowden.
The injuries keep piling up, and even though Bowden has not been shining like other receivers in practice, being healthy and producing in games means more. Yes, it would be nice to see him catch a long pass on a Twitter highlight in practice, but I would take a few first-down catches in-game over that any day of the week!
I believe Bowden will become an impact player for Miami this season, and he started that off perfectly. I do not think Bowden will be a No. 1 receiver or even Miami’s top pass-catching target. But I think he will be what he showed in the first preseason game. A guy Miami can count on to be open, catch the ball, and move the chains.
I am hopeful he can become a guy that makes game-changing plays like he did at Kentucky, but maybe we will see that in the second preseason game against the Falcons. With all the other receivers still hurt and likely not playing, he will get his chance to once again show his stock is up, and he will be on the final roster.
