Miami Dolphins: 3 major takeaways from Week 1 vs. Patriots

2. Jaylen Waddle is as advertised
In my Jaylen Waddle scouting report, I said the following, “I think Waddle does it all. He is not your usual big-play receiver that is great at running straight lines and catching deep balls. Waddle flashes every single time the ball is in his hands and is a touchdown waiting to happen. If he isn’t making defenders look silly with his route running, he makes them look stupid with his elite after the catch ability. Even though his college production wasn’t elite, I think Waddle will have a very productive NFL career. He is going to be a lot of fun to watch in the NFL.”
Let’s take this moment to pat me on the back, everyone. Yes, I did not like the value of taking him at six, but I loved the player, so it was easy to move past. And yes, it was only one week and his first NFL game, but let’s be honest, people, Jaylen Waddle is a DUDE.
Every time the ball was in Waddle’s hands, you could just see how special he was. He was consistently open and showcasing his explosiveness. Waddle scored a nice three-yard touchdown for his first career score, and even on that little play, you could see he is the real deal.

Waddle also had another play that went for 36 yards, and if Tagovailoa led him a little, it would have likely been a big touchdown. Again, yes, I know it was Week 1, but get used to seeing Waddle making plays because he will be in a lot of highlights.
