player. 59. Scouting Report. RB. MylesGaskin. 1. Pick Analysis. Washington

It wouldn’t be crazy to call Gaskin the Dolphins’ best player against the Patriots, so his spot here is fairly valid. Every time he touched the ball it felt like he was always gaining positive yards.

Gaskin totaled 9 rushes for 49 yards and 5 catches for 27 yards on 5 targets. It’s odd that he was averaging over 5-yards a carry and over 5-yards per reception and the team only gave him 14 total touches in the game, but it’s something that should change over the course of the season.

The team did however say they would rely on a three-man committee at running back, which was apparent with Malcolm Brown having five carries and Salvon Ahmed with four, but it’s clear that Gaskin is the top of the committee.

The game script led to only nine carries in week one, but the Dolphins’ offensive coordinators need to get Gaskin the ball when he is having as efficient a day as he did against New England. Gaskin could prove he is the lead back that the Dolphins are looking for, he just needs to see an uptick in that category.

Up next for Gaskin is a Buffalo defense that stifled first-round pick Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers in week one.
