If you see any articles about free agents for the Dolphins, regardless of where you see it, and Terron Armstead’s name isn’t on it throw it right in the trash even if it’s on your phone or laptop. This needs to be the #1 priority for the Dolphins and with all the money the Dolphins have, they need to throw as much as they have to get Armstead.

We saw, ad nauseam, last year how beyond deplorable the Dolphin’s offensive line is. The only stat I need to share is that the Dolphins, somehow, had three of their starting offensive linemen in the bottom five of the whole league in sacks given up and quarterback pressures. The number of planets that need to be aligned for that to happen and to be let to continue to happen would make Copernicus question everything he believed in.

Adding Terron Armstead to the left tackle position makes the Dolphins not have to worry about that position for the next 5ish years. He’s 31 years old and has a lot of good years ahead of him.

Where does that leave Liam Eichenberg? If Armstead gets plugged into the left tackle spot, then I would guess Eichenberg, who actually started to improve a little bit towards the end of the year, would go to right tackle. Yes, I’m sorry to break the news here that there isn’t a universe that exists where Jesse Davis is back at left tackle. Sorry to all you Jesse Davis truthers out there.

Terron Armstead is a no-brainer to me. He will help unlock the running game because I think running the ball will be the norm here based on Mike McD getting the job, and he will give Tua or whoever is the QB the confidence they need to believe they can hold on to the ball an extra half-second to look downfield instead of getting the ball out of their hands instantly. That’ll open up the offense greatly.
