Miami doesn’t have a choice when it comes to the WR unit. They need to make changes and they probably should make a lot of them. We looked at that earlier with what Wes Welker might have to work with.

The WRs need to be overhauled and luckily for McDaniel, many of them are impending free agents. The two biggest names that Miami has to figure out from the WR unit are Allen Hurns and DeVante Parker. Hurns hasn’t been productive due to injuries for a while and Parker can be replaced.

Replacing Parker’s production would be easier than replacing what he is supposed to do on the field. He is great at contested catches but can’t get separation and his inconsistent production when he is healthy is only matched by inconsistent injury history.

McDaniel has the chance to overhaul this unit and build a team that he believes in. Replace Parker and Hurns with free agents and a very deep WR draft that includes quality route runners, physical receivers who can get separation, and speed.
