Potential familiarity with Parker

It might not even be a thing by the time the regular season rolls around, considering DeVante Parker’s future in Miami is anything but solidified. But Bridgewater and Parker have a connection that goes way, way back.

They both arrived at Louisville as freshmen in 2011, with Bridgewater becoming the immediate starter and Parker being his go-to weapon. The two connected for 28 touchdown passes over the three season that they played together, and became one of the premiere offensive duos in the country for a while. Parker finished his career by catching passes from Will Gardner during his senior season, but it was with Bridgewater where he made a name for himself.

It would take a lot of things to go right (or wrong) for the two to ever share the field again. It remains unknown whether the Dolphins will look to move on from the oft-injured receiver, and he may not even be on the roster for Week 1. Furthermore, Bridgewater is the backup quarterback, and seeing him on the field would mean an injury to starter Tua Tagovailoa, which is not something any of us are wishing for at this point.

But any sort of familiarity never hurt anyone.
