Miami Dolphins 2023 Draft Possibility: Defensive Line

The front office of the Miami Dolphins did a masterful job in bringing back essentially the entire defense from a season ago. The unit was the only one that provided any sort of identity for the team, and they’ll look to run it back in 2022.

While we can’t predict what the next off season will hold in terms of team needs, it is worth exploring each position to potentially be able to take the best player available. There will be many instances during the first round of the 2023 Draft when the best player available will be a defensive lineman or edge rusher.

Much like the last draft, the University of Georgia defense will be well represented in 2023. Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith will be two of the high profile names, both of whom could wind up being tops at their position. There is also a trio of Clemson defensive linemen that could be top-20 picks in Myles Murphy, Tyler Davis, and Bryan Bresee.

As it stands today, the Dolphins selecting a defensive lineman with a first round pick would be seen as a wasted pick, but things can change drastically from season to season by way of injuries or contract disputes.
