Is 2022 Mike Gesicki’s last year with the Miami Dolphins?

The Mike Gesicki Contract Saga feels like it has been going on forever, and it will only be more of a talking point during the 2022 season. The talented tight end was slapped with the franchise tag during the offseason, a deal that links him to Miami for another year before he seeks another payday.

Gesicki has proven that he has the talent to be a top tight end in the league, but has been stifled by an anemic offense, multiple systems, and a turnstile at quarterback. He has still put up solid enough numbers but will look to have a career year under new head coach Mike McDaniel.

He may not be the number two or even number three option in the Dolphins’ offense in 2022, but Gesicki could use that to his advantage by finding holes in the defense created by his talented teammates. If he has a big year, his price tag could become too much for Miami to handle, and he could find greener pastures (bigger bags of money) elsewhere.
