Miami Dolphins possible first-time Pro Bowler: Mike Gesicki

The road to Pro Bowl honors may be tougher for Mike Gesicki than for any other player on this list.

We know that he has the hands. Gesicki has been able to showcase his talents over his first four seasons despite overwhelmingly poor offensive play from the Dolphins. He has had solid seasons that lead us to believe that he can be a top 5 tight end, but he has yet to make it over that hump.

Things could change in 2022, as Gesicki will be playing in a new and (hopefully) improved offense, one that should see him get plenty of open opportunities. He’ll be playing for a contract as well, as the franchise tag lasts just one season.

The competition will be fierce. Just two tight ends were named to the Pro Bowl from the AFC in 2021, and Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews will be the favorites to make repeat appearances. But both players are in offenses that are undergoing some serious changes, and there could be a vacancy at the position, and it could be Mike Gesicki who is next in line for the honors.
