The Kansas City Chiefs have been the darlings of the AFC the last few years but they may not be as good as they tend to be ranked.

Until proven otherwise, even I ranked the Chiefs in the top five but I think we see a team this year that doesn’t come close to the expectations of the off-season. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are the Chiefs’ offense and their running game doesn’t really scare defenses.

Defensively, the Chiefs are good but they are going to be tested against their own division rivals in 2022. I still have the Chiefs making the postseason in my AFC pre-camp predictions but it is a fine line that could easily go to the Chargers who I have looking in from the outside.

The loss of Tyreek Hill is a big loss for Mahomes and I know that fans are excited about the addition of JuJu Smith-Schuster but while his speed is excellent, he is not Hill and even more so, he doesn’t have the rapport that Mahomes and Hill had. It will be noticeable.
