Erik Ezukanma or Eazy-E as I and others are desperately trying to get to be his nickname has been showing out and letting everyone know at Miami Dolphins camp that he’s more than a 4th round pick.

Erik Ezukanma has hit the ground running, catching and making terrific plays seemingly every day since he was drafted in the 4th round back in April. He didn’t just show up to training camp trying to be a player that just sort of backdoors himself into a roster spot because he was Mike McDaniel’s first ever offensive player picked but he’s showed up and has made a case in the first two weeks that he deserves real playing time.

Check out these plays here, here, and here that Erik Ezuknama has made so far.

I know it’s only three plays but Eazy-E is getting a lot of work with Tua which suggests to me that the coaching staff like him, at the moment, a little bit more than some of the other guys. Other guys that have been here for a few seasons. You haven’t heard a ton about Lynn Bowden Jr. or Preston Williams in terms of making any kinds of plays out there. Nowhere near the amount that Erik Ezukanma has made.

Ezukanma is fighting for that 4th receiver slot on the team. I’m not going to put it past him to achieve that goal and who knows? Maybe just maybe he’ll be gunning for Cedrick Wilson’s spot. Weirder things have happened.

Here’s Mike McDaniel talking up his guy, Eazy-E.
