Miami Dolphins fantasy football option #1: Jaylen Waddle

How can a guy like Tyreek Hill, who has been one of the top overall fantasy options over the past few years, not even be the best fantasy option on his own team?

Enter: Jaylen Waddle

There is an argument to be made about whom the Dolphins’ number one target will be in 2022. The obvious answer would be Hill, given his track record and game-breaking ability. But Jaylen Waddle could benefit from all of the attention placed on the perennial Pro Bowler, especially if he is able to build on his production from 2021.

Waddle set a rookie record last season by hauling in 104 receptions, a stat that made him a valuable piece in points per reception leagues. He eclipsed 1,000 yards as well and added seven total touchdowns to make him the most productive fantasy player on the Dolphins for the year.

The real deciding factor between Waddle and Hill will be the catches. My prediction has them scoring roughly seven total touchdowns each, and they’ll amass a similar amount of yards. But in PPR leagues, Waddle could prove to be the hotter commodity. Add in his familiarity with Tagovailoa and their connection dating back to their college days, and he should be the best fantasy option on the Miami Dolphins roster for the second year in a row.
