Who will lead the Miami Dolphins in sacks?

The Favorites:

Emmanuel Ogbah, Jaelan Phillips

And then there are the two favorites.

Emmanuel Ogbah has been leading the charge for the pass rush for the Miami Dolphins for the past two years, and he has finished with the most sacks on the team in consecutive seasons. He has had back-to-back 9 sack showings and was rewarded this past off-season with a contract extension that brings back one of the most consistently productive pieces of Miami’s defense.

On the opposite side, and hopefully freeing up some space to work for Ogbah, will be second-year edge rusher, Jaelan Phillips. His rookie season was an up-and-down campaign, with inconsistency being his biggest flaw. There were games in which Phillips showed the dominance that made him the premier pass rusher in his draft class, and others in which you’d be hard-pressed to hear his name called at all by the announcers.

But he still accounted for 8.5 sacks, just a half-sack from being tied in leading the team in the category. If Phillips is able to string together a few games like the one he had against the Panthers last season (3 sacks, 4 QB hits, 1 pass defended), then he will not only challenge for the team lead but perhaps the conference and league lead as well.
