Miami Dolphins predictions:

Week 3: Dolphins 24, Bills 21

This is the one game that most Miami Dolphins fans have chosen out of the first four to be the most likely for a loss, and to be honest, I have to agree.

But if I look at the big picture, and my overall outlook and prediction for the season, I have to pick this game in favor of the Dolphins, and I’ll tell you why.

By the time this game takes place, there will have been almost 1,400 days that have passed since the last time Miami beat Buffalo. The rise of the Bills’ dominance in the division has coincided with the downfall of the Patriots, whose strangle-hold on the division lasted nearly two decades. It feels like the Dolphins missed their window to sneak in and be a contender for the AFC East title, and their poor performances against Buffalo have done nothing to help turn the tide.

Is this the year? It has to be. I’m not saying that the Dolphins are going to sweep the season series with the Bills, because they’re not. But I do believe that Miami will be able to steal one of the two matchups this year, though I don’t think it will be in the latter. Miami will travel up to Buffalo on December 18th for a game that will likely be in some kind of adverse conditions, a true test for a warm-weather team that is 15 weeks in to a season of high expectations.

So that leaves the Week 3 match up as the one victory that the Dolphins will have over the Bills this season, and they’ll win it by a mere field goal.
