Miami Dolphins Week 1 Bold Predictions:

Tua Tagovailoa throws for 330+ yards

Tua Tagovailoa will be one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL in 2022, and as usual, through no fault of his own. Each of his appearances will be scrutinized and picked apart, and whether they care about the actual result of the game or not, fans from around the league will be checking in on Dolphins’ box scores and highlights to see that they can nitpick from Tua’s performances.

He can quiet a lot of talking heads by coming out of the gate with an impressive performance against the Patriots in Week 1.

It may feel like a lofty goal for someone who came up 1,300+ yards short last year, but Tagovailoa should be aiming for at least 4,000 passing yards this season. He barely eclipsed the 200 yard per game mark in 2021, and had some of the most paltry statistics of any starting quarterback in the league. But should he throw for 300+ yards in the first game, then he will be well on his way to accomplishing that goal.

Tagovailoa has yet to lose a game to Bill Belichick and the Patriots, having started his career with a 3-0 mark against the former evil empire of the AFC East. The wins have not been pretty, and his statistics against New England do anything but jump off of the page. But that could change this coming Sunday with a new head coach, new stable of weapons, and a sell-out crowd in full throat.

Look for Tua to throw for 330+ yards and two or more touchdowns.
