Miami Dolphins most disappointing players

Cedrick Wilson Jr.

Given his price tag and lack of production, Cedrick Wilson might be the biggest disappointment of all for the Dolphins. He was signed before the Tyreek Hill trade happened, and he has obviously fallen out of favor in the offensive scheme. Players like Trent Sherfield and River Cracraft have been more productive, and are playing on much more affordable contracts.

If the Dolphins are going to trade anyone before the November 1st deadline, Wilson Jr. would be a prime candidate. He is owed $16.3 million over the next two seasons, but would only cost the team $2 million against the dead cap should they choose to deal him.

Mike Gesicki

Another financial disappointment, Mike Gesicki has not lived up to the expectations that were placed when he signed the franchise tag in the off-season. His lack of blocking ability has caused his usage to fall far below his usual numbers, while Durham Smythe has taken over as the primary tight end in the offense.

Gesicki has a total of 9 catches for 101 yards this season, 30 of those coming on his only catch in the Jets game, which came in garbage time. Much like the aforementioned Wilson, Gesicki could be a player that opposing teams come calling about before the trade deadline.
