The (pathetic) history of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football
The History of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football
This coming weekend will feature one of the biggest games for the Dolphins in recent memory, as they welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to Miami for the prime time, Sunday Night Football contest. There will be storylines aplenty.
Dolphins fans had this game circled on their calendars since the schedule was released, and not only because it will be played under the bright lights. It will also be the return of former head coach Brian Flores, whose burned bridges upon exit have hurt owner Stephen Ross and the team’s future draft capital. We have, over time, learned more and more about Flores’ toxic reign as the man in charge, and being able to beat a defense that he is a part of will taste extra sweet.
There was also Flores’ relationship with Tua Tagovailoa, who will almost undoubtedly be the biggest story of the most-watched matchup of the weekend. The much-maligned quarterback has been the subject of various debates over the last few months, and he will (hopefully) make his much-anticipated return on Sunday Night in front of a national audience.
The franchise will also be holding a ceremony at halftime, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Miami Dolphins team that went undefeated. If this isn’t a must-watch game, then I don’t know what is.
