Jevon Holland delivers an inappropriate 4-word message after beating Dolphins

Losing Holland was never a bad thing, but his anger is misguided.

Jevon Holland returned to South Florida and Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and his New York Giants left with a preseason victory over the Miami Dolphins. Holland should learn to take the higher road.

The Dolphins opted not to re-sign their second-round pick after his contract expired following the 2024 season. Holland didn't get the initial interest he had imagined on the free agent market, but he eventually signed with the Giants.

Following the game on Saturday, Holland took to his IG account to send a four-word message to Miami. "Big Dub! **** EM!!" Needless to say, his message doesn't exactly hit the mark.

Jevon Holland takes unwarranted stab at the Miami Dolphins after return to South Florida

Holland should probably get a little more educated before he decides to throw darts at his former team, or maybe he is jabbing at the fans, because they are the only ones left from his time with the Dolphins.

Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel are the duo behind Holland's departure. They, of course, are both gone. So is Tom Garfinkel, and to a degree, Stephen Ross, who handed over control to his son-in-law, Danny Sillman. So who exactly is Holland mad at?

Holland started his NFL career on fire, and fans loved him. His rookie season was fantastic, and he got even better in 2022. Then the wheels started to fall off. His production began to drop, and his coverage became erratic. Holland also made waves in his pursuit of a new contract, which the Dolphins didn't want to give at the number he had hoped for.

The negotiations went nowhere, and Holland played the final year of his rookie contract. At the time, McDaniel told the media that Holland deserved to test free agency.

Holland's biggest play came against the Jets in 2023. Holland picked off a Tim Boyle Hail Mary as time expired to end the first half. He weaved his way 99 yards through the Jets' offense to score an incredibly surprising touchdown.

There are only a handful of players left from the 2024 season. Salary cap restrictions, bad contracts, and a lack of direction from Grier and McDaniel left little room for contributing players, but Holland wasn't always showing an "all-in" attitude on the field.

Holland's free agency didn't go the way he planned either. He wanted a culture change; we can't blame him. He wanted to play for a winner, but he signed with the Giants. He said he wanted to play for a team with "Leaders who set an example by actions, not by their words." Yet Holland himself could provide neither in Miami.

When Holland left the Dolphins, fans weren't thrilled, but they knew it was business. Holland himself didn't have any ill will toward them at the time either. His leaving the Dolphins has apparently soured over the year he has been away.

Yes, Holland got the "dub" in a meaningless preseason game that saw his Giants beat up a team of rookies, undrafted players, and a slew of inexperienced roster fillers after Jon-Eric Sullivan gutted the team to get out from under bad contracts. Take the victory lap if you must, but it's not like you did anything Saturday to help them.
