The Miami Dolphins draft will soon be in the rearview mirror, and instead of talking about who they could and should pick, we will be talking about and dissecting the ones they did and didn't.
Mock draft season will also come to an end, but not before the initial wave of 2027 mocks that will inevitably follow in the days after this year's draft concludes.
On ESPN, Mel Kiper, Matt Miller, Jordan Reid, and Field Yates got together to work on a collaborative mock. What's good is that all four are contributing their expertise to the mock, rather than just one. For the Dolphins, they can only pray the 11th pick falls their way. Be sure to click the link to read why they selected the players they did for the Dolphins.
Miami Dolphins land the best wide receiver in latest ESPN three-round mock draft
Round 1 - Pick 11: Carnell Tate - WR - Ohio State
If Tate is on the board at 11, the Dolphins should be sprinting to the podium, and they shouldn't take a single call about trading out of the pick. Tate is the one player who checks all of the Dolphins' boxes. Great hands? Check. Great route running? Check. Great work ethic? Check. He is also a known leader who is respected by his teammates. Another check box ticked off.
Round 1 - Pick 30: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren - Safety - Toledo
Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of this pick. I would expect the Dolphins to move out of round one here, but trades were not part of this mock. McNeil-Warren is a good football player, but there are bigger needs at other positions than safety. T.J. Parker was still on their board, and Miami could use the edge help.
Round 2 - Pick 43: Caleb Lomu - OT - Utah
Lomu has been climbing draft boards with many mocks having him gone in round 1. If the Dolphins could land him with their second-round selection, it would be a great steal for a team that is clearly moving on from Austin Jackson after the 2026 season.
Round 3 - Pick 75: Derrick Moore - Edge - Michigan
Landing Moore helps fill a major need for the Dolphins. This year's edge class is deep with talent, so waiting until round three makes sense.
Round 3 - Pick 87: Daylen Everette - CB - Georgia
Everette is a good pick in the third round. I would have rather seen the Dolphins take a corner in round one over safety and then add someone here at that position, but Everette has starting potential.
Round 3 - Pick 90: Max Klare - TE - Ohio State
I like Klare, but I also believe there are other TE options that are just as capable that can be had in the next two rounds. Klare is well-rounded in his position and comes from the right type of NCAA system. He would be a seamless day one starter.
Round 3 - Pick 94: T.J. Hall - CB - Iowa
This is a great pick late in the round and delivers the Dolphins a second CB that can start immediately. The boundary duo of Hall and Everette would be fun to watch develop.
