The draft class of one year HC Cam Cameron is getting thinner every day.  The Miami Dolphins have announced the release, not the trade, of 3rd string QB John Beck.  Beck rode the bench last year and never saw the field the entire season.  After the Dolphins drafted QB Pat White over the weekend, it was evident that Beck’s future with the team was seriously in doubt.

The Miami Dolphins told Jason Taylor they wanted to wait until after the draft to decide whether or not to bring back the veteran DE.  A year ago, the draft weekend ended with Jason Taylor still a Dolphin and the trade watch began.  This year, the Jason Taylor watch begins again.

The Miami Dolphins won the division last year but that did not mean they were rebuilt.  The 2009 off-season was supposed to fill more holes but free agency came and went without any serious signings.  Gibril Wilson on the eve of free agency, Cameron Wake a couple of weeks before.  The real story however was the re-signing of Miami’s own free agents.  Channing Crowder, Vernon Carey, and Yeremiah Bell.  Thus, the focus turned to the NFL draft for some answers.  When the final pick was made, the Dolphins draft was more for need than best player available.  For better.  Or [...]

The Miami Dolphins have addressed their need for an “offensive playmaker” and their hole at the CB position by drafting both for this year and next year.  But what will day 2 bring?  Stay tuned here for the first 3 rounds of today’s draft…then I have to pay the piper and go out with the wife…Oye!

The Dolphins select WR Patrick Turner of USC with their 3rd round selection.

The Miami Dolphins said that they needed a playmaker on offense and when the final bell sounded on day one of the draft, they hope they addressed that concern with their 44th pick overall.  QB/WR/RB you name it, Pat White.
The NFL Draft opened with little surprise when the announcement came that Matt Stafford was the overall number 1 pick for the Detroit Lions and the Rams did little to change that when despite a large thick cloud of smoke opted for OT Jason Smith at number 2.  Then, well the draft got a whole lot more interesting.
