The Dolphins welcome in the Pittsburgh Steelers to Hard Rock Stadium this week. We can say with near certainty that the Steelers offense should be able to score at will. Do the Dolphins have any chance of keeping up?

On the surface, Sunday’s matchup for the Miami Dolphins against the Steelers has blowout written all over it. The Steelers offense is one of the best in the league, and Miami’s defense is one of the worst in the league. Miami’s offense will not only need to move the ball consistently, but score early and often in order to have any chance of an upset victory.

More from Dolphins News

The good news is that Pittsburgh’s defense is not the powerhouse it once was. While they continue to fair well against the run, teams have been able to move up and down the field against the Steelers through the air. If Miami can do the same on Sunday, it could bode well for the players fantasy implications. Here is this week’s start/sit suggestions for Miami’s top fantasy options.

Ryan Tannehill

Tannehill’s success this week doesn’t completely rest on his shoulders, but his offensive line. Tannehill was hit repeatedly last week against Tennessee, leading to six sacks for the Titans. As a result, the Dolphins cleaned house this week giving four players their walking papers, including three offensive linemen.

The purge was necessary, but it remains to be seen how well the Dolphins offensive line can respond. Tannehill has had two horrific fantasy outputs now in as many weeks with a combined score of 13.20. Tannehill had just 18 pass attempts last week, but with Miami expected to be playing from behind in this one, it’s safe to assume he’ll have plenty more opportunities to air it out. Unfortunately, the offensive line is such a mess that it’s not worth the risk starting Tannehill in league play. He could be worth the risk, however, in DFS formats as a high potential value play.

Jarvis Landry

As a result of Tannehill’s mere 18 pass attempts last week, Landry had one of the worst performances of his career. Known as Tannehill’s number one option, Landry finished the game with just three receptions for 28 yards. Landry had at least seven receptions in the four games prior so we expect Landry to have a bounce back performance against a subpar Steelers secondary.

For Miami to have any chance in this one, they’re going to need Landry to have a big game. The offense continues to struggle and it’s had an effect on Landry’s fantasy production. We expect Landry to come through for his fantasy owners though in this one, even if it’s during garbage time.

Start

Arian Foster

Foster is expected back this week after a three game absence. The Dolphins cut RB Isaiah Pead as part of their purge, indicating Foster hasn’t had any further setbacks. Even though Foster hasn’t played in a few weeks, he is expected to be in the starting lineup.

It remains to be seen what kind of workload we can expect to see from Foster on Sunday. Jay Ajayi has played well the past couple of weeks, and should still be a part of the game plan. Foster’s ability in the passing game makes for an intriguing play, but chances are his snaps will be limited in his first game back. Miami will also likely abandon the run at some point should they fall too far behind.
