Happy New Year Phinatics! It’s uncertain what the new year will bring. Will it be a change at defensive coordinator? Will Joe Philbin make any changes to the staff at all believing that the team is close enough? Will the playoffs be enough to keep Philbin his job in 2015 and will missing the playoffs be the nail in his head coaching coffin? We can’t predict the future any more than we can change the past.

Over the last few days we have taken a look back at the season that was. You can view all the pages via the links below. Yet we have left out December. Was it a December to remember or one to forget? Many believe it to be the latter. With that being said here is a look back at the final month of 2014’s Miami Dolphin season. The Miami Dolphins kicked-off their final month of play with a game in New York against the Jets. Entering Monday morning the Dolphins found themselves needing only a victory to put them in the 6th seed of the AFC playoff race. The previous day every team that Miami needed to lose, lost. It should have served as inspiration for the team but instead the Dolphins came out sloppy and slow. The Jets held Miami’s offense in check despite have a depleted defensive secondary. The play of the Dolphins defense kept the teams close and in the end the Dolphins were able to pull out a late 4th quarter win. While the game would move the Dolphins into that 6th seed the Jets totaled over 130 yards rushing in the first quarter and finished the night with 277. Despite the victory the Dolphins did not look good.
