Miami Dolphins Reach SUHper Deal With Ndamukong Suh
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins have finally made official what everyone has been waiting for, Ndamukong Suh is now a member of the team. Over the weekend it was reported by several new outlets including ESPN that the Dolphins would make Suh the highest paid defensive player in the league at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. They were a little off.

The Dolphins released defensive tackle Randy Starks on Wednesday morning as the two sides came closer together on the contract details. Jared Odrick left for the Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after the start of free agency. The Dolphins will have a new look defensive line that will be tailored to both disrupting opposing teams passing offense and stopping the run. Something the team did not do well with last season. Especially late.
Suh brings a toughness that the Miami Dolphins have lacked for a very long time. He brings a meanness that the team needs. Yesterday Kim Bokamper tweeted the Dolphins needed this kind of attitude. He later talked with the Palm Beach Post and had this to say about the big named free agent.
"“He’s a disrupter, he causes problems and he gets a lot of fines,” former Dolphins defensive end Kim Bokamper said. “At this point I’m all for any player that can make the Dolphins better and make them a playoff team.” Kim Bokamper"
The Dolphins have made a splash in free agency three years in a row now. They signed the top rated WR in 2013, Mike Wallace. In 2014 they added the top left tackle in Brandon Albert and this year the top rated overall free agent Ndamukong Suh. The Dolphins have yet to make the playoffs but there is no question that Stephen Ross sees the need to improve his football team on the field.
Suh will makeover the entire defense on his own. His presence will free up other players to make big plays and will free up both Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon to have a better shot at the quarterback.
UPDATE: It has also been announced that the team has signed cornerback Brice McCain as well.

Many in the media are complaining about the salary but the reality is someone was going to give him that much and this year it was the Dolphins. Miami has been very fond of throwing a lot of money at players that are not elite. Dannell Ellerbe, Phillip Wheeler, and the list can go on. This time they are throwing money at an elite NFL football player. It may not work out in the end, but it will be a helluva lot of fun watching it unfold.
