Dolphins’ Tannehill Talks Team Building
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins opened off-season voluntary workouts today and several members of the team had to stand and get interviewed. For starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill it was all about team building. He spoke with The Finsiders and the video can be seen from the tweet below.
Tannehill is on the verge of getting a new extension and the Dolphins based on previous media reports may want to get it done by week one of the season. He is taking the necessary strides to become a leader on offense and the face of the franchise. Not by force but by the realization that everyone looks to him to drive the team.
During the interview with The Finsiders, Tannehill also said that he has been throwing with his receivers for a month now. Tannehill is trying to build the consistency that he has lacked over the last two years especially with Mike Wallace.

Tannehill isn’t the only player talking leadership. The Dolphins new defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh says he wants to be a leader on the team but right now it’s about getting to know his new teammates and establishing that connection with them. It’s always easy to talk about becoming a great team and leaders when the off-season is kicking off but the Dolphins are starting to look like they are becoming something more than average, despite the last three mediocre seasons.
Perhaps the infused attitude and vision of Mike Tannenbaum and general manager Dennis Hickey is starting to change the thought process that has sunk the Dolphins locker room for years. Joe Philbin may not make it out of next season which would be a monumental waste of talent but if he doesn’t it sounds like it won’t be for a lack of the players trying to become better on and off the field…as a team.
