Lamar Miller is going to get a legit push this off-season from rookie Jay Ajayi but make no mistake he is the starting running back. For the first time in his career he eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark in a season but still has not won over many fans who insist the Dolphins need an upgrade. Miller has been healthy and needs to learn to catch the ball better out of the back-field but he has become a North and South runner with good vision and that should, like Tannehill, improve more in 2015. Miller is developing well enough in his pass blocking and he should get better this season as well but fans and the team will look more closely at what he does with the ball in his hands.

The key for Miller is the offensive line, without them he won’t gain much but he doesn’t need a lot to make an impact. Miller can average almost four yards per carry behind a struggling line so a line that is more aggressive will work well for Miller. Miller is a key here because he is the most experienced runner on the team. He learned a lot in the very short time he was with Knowshon Moreno and his game seemed to become more explosive after Moreno went down to injury. It’s unlikely the Dolphins add another back unless there is an injury so Miller will be the featured back in 2015.
