Miami Dolphins Fans Worst In The NFL
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins fanbase sucks! At least that is according to a new study conducted by Emory Sports Marketing Analytics. In their 2015 NFL fan equity study, the Dallas Cowboys ranked one and the Dolphins ranked dead last. Bull-sh&$

To be fair or rather not be fair, I didn’t bother to read the parameters of the study because frankly I don’t give a crap. The reality is that the Miami Dolphins fan base while not as great as some other teams is still very strong. Especially given the years of sub-par seasons and play. For what it’s worth, one of the best NFL fan base’s, the Cleveland Browns, is listed at the bottom with the Dolphins.
"“We focused on using hard data to determine which NFL team had the most avid, engaged, passionate and supportive fans, the website’s Manish Tripathi said. “By hard data we mean data on actual fan behavior. In particular, we are focused on market outcomes like attendance, prices or revenues. – Via the Dallas Morning News through ProfootballTalk.com"
Miami may not lead the league in jersey sales or memorabilia sales and the Dolphins may not sell out every game but the Miami fan base is well diversified and spread throughout the country and abroad. It’s not easy to sell out tickets in Miami when there are so many other things to do and a good portion of your fan base is out of town. While that holds true for many NFL franchises the truth is that Miami Dolphins fans are still fighting for their team no matter where they go.
Another interesting fact is that revenue and pricing was taken into consideration but the Dolphins have opted to not raise ticket prices as often as other teams have in the last decade. Instead sticking to the family atmosphere that has driven the franchise since the 1960’s. Let’s face it, you don’t want to take your family to see the Raiders play in Oakland but you don’t have a problem taking them to see the Dolphins in Miami.
Hard facts aside there is a lot more than simply dressing up in a cheesehead or tailgating in heaps of snow that makes a fan a fan. And if anyones study has anything to say about Dolphins fans, then I direct you to the picture below. Bikini’s or winter coats? I also think the DolfansNYC group might have something to say about Dolphins fans being the worst. Sorry Emory, I call BS on this one!
