With the start of the NFL regular season only a few weeks away a lot of attention will be paid to the AFC East where the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots call home. The Miami Dolphins are looking to make big gains in 2015. The additions of Ndamukong Suh and a retooled wide-receiver unit has fans excited about the 2015 season and the team believes that they can turn the corner from 8-8 and push for not only a playoff birth but a division title as well. They won’t be the only ones.
The New York Jets boast one of the best defensive units in the NFL but questions remain on the offensive side of the ball where quarterback and running back are concerns. Likewise the Buffalo Bills are heading into a new direction with the arrival of Rex Ryan as the team head coach. While the Bills defense is solid and the running back unit is stout with the addition of LeSean McCoy, questions still remain at the quarterback spot.
When the dust settles on training camps teams will begin preparations for the early season where fast starts could lead to the playoffs. But who are the best players in the AFC East? Who will have the biggest impact on their rosters and help their teams advance to the post-season? Here is a look at the top 50 players in the AFC East. While all four teams have added strong rookies via the draft rookies will be left off this list as they are unproven at the NFL level. Naturally, I’m likely to miss a player or two so your job is to remind me in the comments of who not only who I missed but who you would add to this list.
Outside of the top five, they are listed in no particular order.
