Jerod Mayo has made the most of his seven year NFL career. Drafted out of Tennessee with the New England Patriots first pick in the 2008 draft, number 10 overall, Mayo has proven himself to be a playmaking linebacker.
A two time pro-bowler, Mayo has provided the Patriots with a consistent tackler who has registered 756 total tackles and 10 quarterback sacks over his career.
Mayo has started 85 of 87 games he has appeared in but has missed considerable time over the last two seasons. Playing in just 12 games in that time period. He tore his patellar tendon in October of 2014 missing the rest of the season and and in 2013 was place on IR again in October after tearing his pectoral muscle.
When healthy, Mayo is one of the better linebackers in the AFC East. In 2008 he was voted ESPN’s defensive rookie of the year.
