Miami Dolphins get injured players back
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are practicing today and several of their key players are out there with the team practicing. Important players too. The Dolphins have been lucky so far with injuries, knock on wood. Albert’s injury dated back to last season, Parker’s injury dated to surgery his college season, and Taylor is well dealing with a quad pull.
Today all three were back on the field.

Branden Albert doesn’t know if he will play on Sunday but he looks as though he could. He is practicing full speed today with the team while his back-up Jason Fox is still out of pads. Fox suffered a concussion and is working to get back on the field. Having Albert back is huge for the team as he will protect Ryan Tannehill’s blind side.
Albert’s recovery has been a long arduous affair. He tore his ACL in last years game against the Detroit Lions and after his injury the Dolphins offensive line began to have big problems the rest of the season. His recovery was ahead of schedule but the Dolphins kept him off the practice field and he only returned to light work about two weeks ago.
DeVante Parker, the Dolphins round one pick this past April, has been out all training camp after having surgery to replace a pin in his foot. Originally the surgery occurred last season after Parker was injured at Louisville. He complained of pain in his foot during OTA’s and the team and it’s doctors found that the pin wasn’t working so they replaced it. Parker made his first appearance last Thursday night in the Dolphins pre-season finale against the Buccaneers and caught one pass on two targets for 11 yards.
It’s unknown how much Parker will contribute on Sunday against the Redskins but he should see time on the field as he works towards being 100%. His health no longer an issue, Parker needs to develop chemistry with Ryan Tannehill and learn to read defensive coverages.
Cornerback has been a question mark for most of the season. Aside from Brent Grimes the Dolphins were expecting a battle on the other side. Jamar Taylor stepped up and looked good before suffering a minor injury that kept him out the rest of pre-season. Today, Taylor is in pads and on the field but it’s unknown how much he is participating or whether he will be playing on Sunday. Washington has two very good receivers in DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon so the Dolphins need one of their corners to step up. Getting Taylor back would be good for the team but again, at this point it’s unknown.
All three players are back into the fold but their status ahead of Sunday’s game remains a question mark and all three will likely be listed as questionable on the official injury report that comes out later this week. For now the Dolphins can at least take a breath knowing that three key members of their roster are back on the practice field.
